About the Workshop on “One Ocean Summit”
The recent “One Ocean Summit” held in Brest, France, emphasized the significance of ocean health, marine life, seabed mapping, and ocean governance. In addition, the summit brought out the gaps in the exploration of the ocean in terms of knowledge base, technology, and governance.

At NIAS, through the workshop on “One Ocean Summit,” the Institute aims to undertake a critique of the summit, explore contemporary issues in ocean governance, and look at how to take the process forward.
